2. Check engineer credentials – always use Gas Safe registered professionals
3. Avoid DIY gas work – it’s illegal and dangerous
4. Install and test CO alarms – and make sure they’re EN 50291 compliant
5. Don’t buy fake parts – always use genuine, certified components for reliability, energy efficiency and safety
6. Landlords: fulfil your legal duties – gas safety is not optional
7. Tenants: know your rights – ask for a Gas Safety Record
8. Caregivers: check appliances used by vulnerable individuals
