The inaugural meeting of the ‘new look’ heating controls group, chaired by Mark Jones from Honeywell took place today, Thursday 12th July 2018, enabling a greater synergy between boiler and room controls.
Stewart Clements, Director, HHIC said:
“A key activity for the new group will be the interaction with Government and continued development of future Policy. Connected Home is an area of significant importance and one which we want to engage with policymakers on a consistent basis to ensure the broad spectrum of views and interests are best represented.
The evolution of smart heating products and the installation of effective home heating controls are central to ensuring domestic energy efficiency; enabling the decarbonisation of household heat, and also reduction of heating costs.
Controls group member Andrew Keating, Marketing Director, Baxi and Chair of the HHIC said:
“This is an exciting and logical step for HHIC who already facilitate strong and effective links throughout the industry and with Government. The move to increase the groups’ scope and influence will be vital in shaping heating policy moving forward.”
