HHIC holds regular meetings for members involved in the manufacture and installation of gas fires, aimed at increasing awareness, driving installation opportunities and supporting the industry through collaboration and best practice.
Stewart Clements, Director of HHIC said: “I am really pleased to welcome Richard to this role. His vast experience and pragmatic approach will be a real asset in guiding the gas fires group over the next twelve months.”
Richard said: “I’m delighted to be able to take this position. The HHIC, supported by leading manufacturers, has already made some great progress in promoting the opportunities of gas fires to installers and encouraging them to tap into what can be a profitable revenue stream for them.
“Now we must build on that momentum, showcasing the benefits of modern gas fires to both installers and homeowners, from running costs and design choice, to the wide range of flexible installation opportunities that are now available.
“I have worked in the gas fires industry for many years and have seen the transition from the gas guzzling fires that adorned British Gas stores in the 1980s, to the highly efficient, stylish models that are available today.
“I’m looking forward to chairing future meetings and to working closely with my colleagues from across the industry to support the continued future of gas fires.”
