Use a gas fire on a cold summer night

The Heating and Hotwater Industry Council, HHIC, are suggesting homeowners use their gas fire in the evening rather than turning on the central heating on cold summer nights.

Stewart Clements, Director of HHIC said ‘Currently we are enjoying lovely warm temperatures during the day, but come the evening the temperature is dropping.

This is when a gas fire can really come into its own. It isn’t cold enough to merit turning up the full central heating system, but a gas fire, as a single source of heating, is convenient and cost effective.

There are many benefits of a gas fire. To help homeowners understand this and showcase the inspiring designs available, HHIC and its members have developed a guide to gas fires. The Guide called ‘Why choose Gas for your Fires and Stoves’ is available to download here.

There is a gas fire to suit old or new properties, all tastes, and budgets, we want to help people make the right choice when creating the very heart of their home.’
